The latest breakthrough clinical investigation of Litramine in overweight and obese subjects has been accepted by the Obesity Society and will be presented at their 29th Annual Scientific Meeting in Orlando, Florida on 3rd October 2011. Litramine is the active ingredient in our fat-binding product Liposinol, a leading weight management product which is sold under a variety of brand names worldwide.
Against fierce competition, where only one-third of all entries are accepted for poster presentations, Litramine has gained recognition for its efficacy and safety in body weight reduction.
The study revealed that Litramine reduces body weight in overweight and obese subjects by up to three times more than dieting and exercise alone. At the end of the 12-week study, more than one-third of Litramine subjects had lost ≥5% of their initial body weight. The study also showed a significant reduction in BMI, body fat and waist circumference and the benefits were achieved without any known harmful side effects and with a very good tolerance.
This high-profile scientific meeting organised by the Obesity Society is one of the world’s largest gatherings of obesity professionals. The aim of the US-based association is to better understand, prevent and treat obesity through research, education and advocacy to improve the lives of those affected. The Association is committed to advancing policy changes that address the current obesity epidemic, working with the United States Congress, US Surgeon General, the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention, HMOs and others.
Thomas Hafner, InQpharm’s Chief Executive Officer, comments, “This is our first presentation at the Obesity Conference and I am proud that we have been recognised for our clinical investigation by a high-profile international organization. Litramine, our patented and proprietary technology, has been shown to achieve better results than other non-drug products and comparable results to those of obesity pharmacotherapy agents, but without any known side effects. This recognition validates the credibility of our clinical investigation and provides a meaningful competitive advantage.”
